The department of English is the core department of the college, as it caters to all three- Arts Commerce and Science streams. Extension and Outreach Activity

• Literature refines human sensibilities and sensitivities and realizing this aspect of literature, the department besides stuffing the inmates with academics takes all round efforts to instill the soft tendencies in the students. As a part of this exercise, the department took initiative to give students firsthand experience of the hardships faced by leprosy patients. For this purpose, the students were taken to Amravati’s internationally acclaimed the temple of humanity –Tapovan, which is a Haven for Lepers in true spirit. The students there extended their helping hands and assisted the inmates in caring out their daily chores like preparing meals, cleaning the utensils, campus cleaning, etc.
• Initiative to promote eco-friendly Ganesh Idols during Ganesh Festival.
• Poster Making as a part of COVID-19 Awareness Drive.
• Clothes and Grocery Kits distribution to the needy tribals of Melghat, a place that got an international attention for the all wrong reasons of malnutrition and child death.

MOUs

• The Department entered into an M. O. U. with M. S. C. Arts, Commerce and Science College, Manora, Dist. Washim to enhance the quality of Teaching and Learning in English.
• In order to instill Eco friendly attitudes in students, the department signed an M. O. U. with Amravati based NGO working towards environment protection- Wild Life and Environment Conservation Society (WECS). The students participate in various activities like Bird Watching, promoting of “Eco-Friendly Ganesha” to devotees, visiting various Forts, etc. to get awareness about environment.

• To start an activity based programme entitled “Proficiency Hub” so as to improve the language skill of the inmates.

COMMERCE

Establishment year :- 1962

The Department of Commerce is one of the most prominent, oldest and vibrant departments in Vidarbh region well known for its quality education. It has 5 sections including Marathi, Hindi and 3 English medium sections at under graduation level and 2 sections, 1 each of Hindi and English medium, at post graduate level with students’ strength of more than 1500 at graduation and more than 250 students at post graduation level. The Department of Business Administration, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation are the important wings of the department providing entrepreneurial excellence to the students making them ready for the employment market. To fill this gap, this Centre For professional studies has been offering government recognised, S. G. B. Amravati University affiliated one-year course- Diploma in Business Management since 2003. The Department has a number of Physical and Political Maps of India and the World. The topographical maps, weather maps and instruments are also available in the department. MARATHI

Establishment year :- 1960

Marathi being a regional language has a deep attachment with most of the students of the institution. The department has a long league of litterateur including Prof. Madhukarrao Keche, Prof. Brijmohanji Heda and Dr. Vasantji Shende. Prof. Keche was a well known Marathi poet, Novelist and Cartoonist of his time and had the honour to chair the Vidarbh Sahitya Sammelan. Prof. Heda is a thoroughly Gandhian Thinker has contributed various research articles and books on the subject. Dr. Shende has contributed his literary works on Ambedkarian thoughts. The present Head of the Department , Dr. K. K. Gadbail is also following the great heritage of his seniors by contributing to Mahanubhav Panth literature.

The department of Persian is one of the oldest departments of the college. Persian was an official language of India for more than six hundred years. JR WING

Establishment year :- 1976

Our Junior Wing is one of the glorified departments of the college. It comprised of Arts and Commerce faculty. Engendering and nurturing values for enhancing knowledge, wisdoms, skills and human values. We enable the youth to scale peaks of excellence and pinnacles of glory by imparting quality through education. The wing cultivates productive talents of students, faculty and staff and seeks way to contribute to the nation. Our sincere efforts have helped students to excel in cultural activities, academics and sports. Academics, arm in arm with an emphasis on all round development through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The junior wing has been committed to quality education since its inception in the year 1976.

• Have a galaxy of sports stars like Purvasha Shende, Shukmani Babrekar (Archery), Pallavi Pawar(weight lifting), Nisha Bonde(swimming), Disha Kasat(Cricket)
• Participation of the students regularly in the scholarship examinatios, Chanakya Dnyanwardhini Samanya Gyan Pratiyogita
